Picasso Teaches Everyone It’s Okay To Be Different
The pit bull-corgi mix in this video named Picasso teaches everybody it’s okay to be different.
Picasso’s snout grew twisted in the womb but it doesn’t cause him any discomfort or cause him any problems eating or chewing.
If he wants something, he finds a way to get to get.
Picasso has beat some amazing odds since being born.
Puppies with facial abnormalities can have an extremely difficult time nursing however he was able to get enough food and live.
But through all this he still ended up in a shelter.
Liesl of Luvable Dog Rescue inquired at their partner rescue wanting to know if they had any dogs with special needs.
They sent her a photo of Picasso and she fell head over heels in love with his picture so she brought him into her rescue.
Two days after rescuing Picasso from the shelter she was told that he had a brother.
Liesl also brought him into her rescue and gave them names.
This is how Picasso got his name. He was named Picasso because he resembled a Picasso painting and it just seemed fitting to name his brother Pablo.
Liesl knew they needed a good home but it wasn’t that easy.
Picasso became famous because of his one of a kind face but Pablo wasn’t as desired.
People wanted to take over the care of Picasso but not Pablo and Liesl wouldn’t separate them.
They were just too close to each other.
Liesl thought if they were trained to be therapy dogs then they might make a great pair of dogs.
They loved training together however one day something terrible happened.
Pablo laid down and passed away while he was on a walk with them.
This crushed Picasso’s heart. He searched everywhere trying to find Pablo because he thought in his own way his brother was going to come back to him.
It was at this point that Liesl concluded that Picasso had never been by himself and she couldn’t let him be by himself now.
Liesl loved Picasso and he had just lost his companion so she recognized the perfect place for him to get better was in her family along with her and her nine dogs.
Once Picasso met her dogs he began to bounce back and appear happy again.
Her dog named Wombat became his buddy. They started doing everything together.
Picasso was still in training learning to be a therapy dog.
He had the perfect teacher helping him train.
From the first time he came into contact with Sandy in her wheechiar he had no apprehension.
She helps train Picasso but at the same time it is great for her because she is paralyzed and this allows her to get out.
Picasso is just perfect for this.
Just by being himself Picasso helps people feel better.
They have also been receiving heartbreking letters from people who were born with facial defects or something occurred that changed their looks that caused them to look different from other people.
These people have really identified with Pablo in that he is different yet so happy and loved by people.
It’s alright to look different. It is a beautiful thing.
