I really liked the plot of this book - it was so easy to read and kept you guessing with a few sharp surprises along the way BUT the author has obviously not watched the programme as the characters were waaaaaay out!

I became pretty obvious as I read on, however, that the author had very little sense of the characters' original personalities, especially Brennan. The complication with writing a book based on an existing property is that you have to remain true to the characters as they have been created by other people, not how you'd like them to be, and this book appeared less than 6 months after the show first aired. The book allowed viewers of the show literary versions of their favorite characters without a hint that their parts were written by someone other than the show's weekly scribes. Let me say that again.

The plot had potential but the ending was such a let down and the dialog at times was so...high school. There is very, very little description of the forensic techniques used in the show.
