To see the sunrise! We purchased Head lamps and began our ascent about 45 mins before sunrise. All that aside anyone could and should do this hike take it at your own pace. The hike to the top is well worth it.

It is not a race – I highly recommend taking your time, especially as the railroad ties are old, not very secure, and can be slippery in the mornings.

This isn't easy! Stretchy-pants are a must-have.

The trek back down can be more dangerous than the hike up, as we watched one person take a hard fall on the slippery gravel. ?I guess I am because I just LOVE Koko Head trail and the more I hang around with cool Yeeps, I have no problem getting to the destination (regardless of time or location).I didn't require an alarm clock to wake me up this morning and arrived shortly before 5am to already have a handful of Yeeps there.
