Lakeview Pit Bull Saves Her Owners From Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
In this video a heroic pit bull named Ruby saves the lives of her Lakeview owners, Ronene Ando and her husband Chris from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Ruby, their well-trained therapy pit bull rarely barks unless she hears someone at the door.
Thursday night she started barking and wouldn’t stop for about one and half hours.
At this point Ronene felt she need to check it out.
Ruby went into the kitchen and then downstairs.
A few days ago Ronene and Chris put a propane heater in their basement and Ronene quickly identified the smell of carbon monoxide as she walked down the steps to the basement.
Ruby had picked up on the smell and was barking to warn them about this.
If it had not been for Ruby there is no telling what might have happened.
Ruby was well trained by Paws Of Love SPCA to be a therapy dog but lacked rescue training.
Her owners believe it was through her intuition that she was able to pick up on the smell and warn them.
Ronene and Chris are forever thankful for Ruby for saving their lives.
Ronene who is an advocate for pit bulls wants people to know that there are misunderstandings about this breed and that they get a bad rep.
Also pit bulls are very loyal and are amazing dogs with proper training and when kept active.
