Live Like Roo
Meet Roo which is is short for Roosevelt. He was a senior pitbull/mastiff rescued from Chicago Animal Care and Control who was surrendered by his owners because of urinary problems.
When Kelly Michael and Sarah Launch met Roo at Chicago Animal and Care control, they were instantly drawn to him because he was so much calmer than the other dogs. They knew they had to get him out and with help of One Tail at a Time Rescue they were able rescue him.
Unfortunately during a dental procedure to remove his damaged teeth, the vet discovered Roo had bone cancer and just a few months to live. Kelly had been fostering Roo and he had a possible foster to adopt him but after this diagnosis of bone cancer they couldn’t let him go. They adopted him because they wanted to give him the care and love he deserved.
They wanted his last months to the best of his life so they started a bucket list and this is how #LiveLikeRoo started. He has a Facebook Page where they shared his adventures. Some of his adventures were swimming, three massages, enjoyed a day at the lake, hiked on the 606, and lots of ice cream.
Roo’s story is meant to inspire others to #LiveLikeRoo and to make the best of their lives.
