Pit Bull Needs High Chair To Eat Until He Surprises Everyone

The pit bull in this video had to have a special high chair to eat but he amazes is new family with an incredible recovery.

When Patch was brought to the shelter, he was very skinny and unable to keep food down.

After examining him the veterinarians found he had megaeophagus, a condition which makes it difficult for food to get to the stomach.

However the veterinarians refused to give up on him.

They designed a special high chair that would keep him sitting straight up when he was eating.

The concept was if Patch could sit straight up when eating his food it would go down farther aided by gravity and fall in his stomach instead of pooling in his esophagus.

This way he could get more nourishment from his food and begin to put on weight.

With 24 hour care Patch quickly went from a starving weight of 22 pounds to a normal weight of 35 pounds.

Fortunately Patch was able to find the perfect family.

He now resides with six rescued dogs, horses, donkeys, and alpacas.

Since living with his new famiy Patch has recovered and no longer needs his high chair.

Now the thing he loves most doing in the world is playing ball.

Lulu Jenkins, Patch’s mom says, “He is such a character and we love him to pieces.”
