Ps trail in good condition. Just behind that is a small sign for the Colorado trail. Pretty hike but it’s pretty much downhill from the trailhead and you can hear the highway for most of the hike. Golden Block will be closed this Sunday Aug 7th. Highway noise, but started pretty early so not too bad. I would recommend just taking the Colorado trail from the same trailhead - way better. We finally arrived in Colorado Springs, at the base of Pikes Peak and we were in for some incredible views as we headed up the mountain. Would recommend hiking out from Molas Lake to Animas River instead.

The stunning views have even impressed AAA, who recently named the Molas Lake Campgrounds as the best in Colorado. Nice scenery! The rolling hills with all the evergreen is just so peaceful.

Alongside the San Juan Scenic Byway, Highway 550, Little Molas Campground is a quiet, cost-free reprieve for campers visiting the San Juan Mountains. The area is beautiful.

We love the area around Durango and Silverton and we though it would be nice to camp out and hike in the area so, we made the long trip across Colorado. Molas Lake is the most beautiful lake I have ever seen!! was a great day sunny and cool.

Nice easy trail. That is what you want. This was an ok hike. It’s a good idea to get there early as a lot of people like to make the drive up Pikes Peak during the summer. It is easy to go in Wilderness area instead of Little Molas lake.
