This Pit Bull Near Death Gets A Second Chance At Life

This video is about a badly beaten shelter pit bull named Petey who was on death row and facing euthanization before long who gets a miraculous rescue and a second chance at life.

Petey had been badly beaten with his head swollen to almost twice it’s normal size. Alex, a rescuer with Karma Rescue in Los Angeles says that when she saw this animal all beaten up in a shelter with a stent in his neck and a cone around his neck she didn’t know why but she immediately felt attracted to him.

“Petey would have been euthanized,” she says. “Without a doubt. There was no way anyone was going to rescue this dog. There’s no way.”

Alex realized that the only way Petey was going to survive was for her to do something. She pulled Petey from the shelter that day and immediately rushed him to the vet. It took Petey three weeks to recover from his physical wounds but he would need more time emotionally.

Ten weeks after being rescued Petey was ready for his forever home. Robyn saw his picture on Facebook and she knew she had to adopt him. She says that she knew Petey was special because he was able to overcome all that physical and emotional trauma he had been put through. From the first time Robyn met Petey to this present day, she says that he has been nothing but loving. “He’s all muscle but all heart underneath,” she says.

Petey finally realized there was a human in his life that wasn’t going to hurt. This second chance at life has given him a new perspective on life and a puppyish wonder.
