This Rescued Pit Bull’s Short Life Was A Gift To The World
When Lexi the pit bull was found, she was tied to a fence in Brooklyn and was bleeding from her eye and nose. She was only two years old when she was taken to a NYC kill shelter. Chance Rescue pulled her out and quickly took her to a vet. They removed her injured eye and it was then they discovered she had a massive cancerous tumor in her head.
Donations came pouring in to help Lexi. The vets did everything they could to try to stop or shrink the tumor but nothing worked. The cancer was too aggressive. They gave her three weeks of radiation hoping this would buy her one to two more years but they got only a few months.
During the short four and half months Lexi spent with her adopted family she was given lots of love and she gave them a lot of love even more than they could ever have imagined. They considered her a gift. She not only touched the lives of this family but she touched the hearts of thousands. She is gone but she will be forever remembered.
“To the beautiful pup who simply asked if she could make us happy. In the short four and half months when she got that chance, she came through in ways that no one could ever have imagined. She was and is a gift to the world. May she be resting now with the knowledge that her short life affected so many. We are humbled by you Lexi. Peace sweet child.”
Her friends ask that you pay it forward by sharing her story. Rest in peace sweet Lexi.
