Two Kids Rescue A Pit Bull Dumped In A Sewer Drain
Two cousins, Tyler Price and Eugene were walking through an overgrown lot on the northside in Flint, MI when they spotted an old sign laying in their path. Tyler lifted the old sign up with his foot and looked in the hole and he saw two eyes looking up at him. It was a starving pit bull who they now call Mars that had been dumped six feet underground in this sewer drain and left to die.
Tyler and Eugene knew immediately that they had to do something. They couldn’t get Mars out so they called Tyler’s dad for help. “He immediately said, ‘Dad take my wallet, get the dog some dog food and water,'” said George Price. While waiting for the Flint area animal rescue group called Streethearts, they lowered food down into the hole to Mars. Finally the animal rescue group got a rope around Mars and pulled him to safety.
They suspect Mars was deliberately put in the sewer drain since the opening of the hole was only twenty four inches. He was suffering from starvation and heart worms and there were signs of abuse. “I thought he was going to be angry or try and bite people.” said Tyler. But Mars was just happy and very hungry. “You can’t get near him without getting kissed. He’s amazing,” said Terissa Kerr.
Terissa Kerr saw Mars’ incredible rescue story on social media and wanted to help. She became Mars’ foster mom and will rehabilitate him until he is ready to be adopted. Mars continues to get better every day.
If it had not been for Tyler and Eugene coming to Mars rescue, he probably would have died.

Tyler doesn’t own a dog now but after this rescue…
“He’s been on me since Sunday about getting a dog, so we’ll get one that is rescued,” said George Price.
